About Me
My name is Richard and I am an award winning professional photographer and tutor based in the north of England in the scenic Lake District. I am a qualified member of the Guild of Professional Photographers and have been selling and exhibiting my work for over 15 years. I have been featured in magazines, websites, radio, the BBC and a variety of other media and my prints hang in homes all around the world.
I have a strong fan base built upon my belief in interacting with each and every person who is kind enough to follow my work and believe in the promotion of accessible art for everyone. A lot of my work is based on taking new angles and approaches and is therefore often quite surreal or abstract. I do have a broad range of photographic skills and hope that browsing through my site you find something you like.

Do you post worldwide? Yes I do, however please be aware that due to the increased cost of shipping along with how well packed my items need to be, it is best to check postage prices at checkout. The prices reflect the lowest I can charge without making a loss, and will fluctuate with the changing climate worldwide.
Will there be customs duty / tax to pay on my international order? Due to the vast differences and fluctuations in import taxes and charges various countries have, I am unable to offer direct advice on this matter. If in doubt please contact the relevant department in your local area to determine what, if any, charges will be due on importing items across your home borders. If you are still unsure please contact me and I will aid as best I can in determining this for you.
What payment methods do you accept? I accept debit / credit card, Paypal, bank transfer and cheque. The first two can be accepted by the in-site system however for bank transfer and cheque please contact me at admin@richardbyersphotography.com to arrange this before purchase.
My item has been damaged in transit, can I get a refund? If your item(s) are damaged during transit then please contact me at admin@richardbyersphotography.com to let me know and arrange a replacement or refund.
Why are your prints more expensive than other places I’ve seen? Art is always worth whatever you are willing to pay for it. Despite this I try to keep my prices competitive and affordable, however this must be balanced with the fact I use only the very highest quality printing labs and materials for my products. By purchasing one of my prints you know that, instead of receiving a mass produced photograph sold in hundreds of chain stores, you are supporting the artist directly and getting in return a unique piece of art from an award winning photographer who puts 100% passion and dedication into each and every print.
I’d love a print but can’t afford it right now, do you do layaway / payment plans? I try to keep my art accessible to everyone and understand that it’s not always possible to purchase right away. I am happy to arrange a payment plan for any item(s) you want, however please bear in mind I will only produce and ship items once they have been fully paid for. Plans are flexible and all payments refundable if you change your mind before completing the full payment, however I do require a 10% upfront, non refundable deposit. What paper are your prints made on? All of my prints and canvases are produced by the very best printing labs on premium photographic paper. Standard prints are produced on lustre finish paper and pre-mounted prints are produced on textured 300 gsm fine art cotton Photo Rag paper.
Do you do commissioned work? Yes I do. Details of my hire services can be found here.
Can you teach me / my friend / relative etc. photography? I tutor photography both at a distance (written critiques, phone and online) and in person. Sessions are client tailored and start at £25 per session. Full details can be found here.
Do you give concession rates? I can consider flexible fee rates if the situation is applicable. This will depend on the work carried out and its purpose so it’s always best to contact me to discuss this at admin@richardbyersphotography.com.
Are you a trustworthy service? I have been selling my photographic art for over 15 years and have clients from all over the world. I have a 100% satisfaction record and many of my customers become regular buyers. In addition, I am an official Qualified Member of The Guild Of Professional Photographers and as such hold my work ethics to the highest standard.
How often do you add new photos for sale? I regularly add new photos, however only after they go through a strict quality control process that keeps my portfolio of work to the very highest standard.
